Losing you changed everything. Becoming your mum was the greatest privilege of my life, and honouring you is now my purpose.
I wish your story didn’t end the way it did. I wish knowledge, awareness, and protection had come sooner. Since I can’t change what happened, I promise your spirit flies high, your life will continue to matter.
Happy Lids exists because of you. Because your life was worth more than a statistic, more than a moment on the field, more than silence. Through this work, your legacy lives on. In awareness raised, conversations started, and lives that may be protected because someone stopped and paid attention.
I will keep speaking your name. I will keep telling the truth. I will keep standing up for young people and families who deserve better.

The VISION
Carrying Antonio’s Legacy Forward
Antonio’s life did not end in vain — but it did end too soon.
As his mum, I carry the responsibility of ensuring his story leads to change. Not just awareness for one family, or one sport, but a broader understanding that brain injury is serious, complex, and often misunderstood.
My vision is a future where:
Concussion is recognised as a brain injury – NOT “just a knock”
Young athletes are educated before they step onto the field
Parents, coaches, and communities are empowered with knowledge
Silence and stigma are replaced with honesty and action
No family is left saying, “We didn’t know.”
Honouring Antonio means standing in rooms that feel uncomfortable. It means challenging outdated systems, advocating for education, and pushing for accountability, even when it’s hard.
It also means compassion. For families navigating loss. For survivors living with invisible injuries. For those whose brain injuries didn’t come from sport, but from violence, accidents, or moments no one saw coming.
Antonio was kind, loyal, driven, and deeply loved. His legacy is not defined by how he died, but by what his life continues to change.
Through Happy Lids, his name lives on, not in sorrow alone, but in purpose, protection, and hope.

Why Happy Lids Exists
Happy Lids exists because one life changed everything.
It exists because Antonio’s death exposed a devastating gap, a gap in education, awareness, and understanding around concussion and brain injury. A gap that still places young lives at risk.
We are not a brand built on trends. We are not here to capitalise on sport. We are here to protect brains, honour lives, and demand better.
Happy Lids exists to:
- Raise awareness that concussion is a brain injury
- Fund research and education through the Concussion Legacy Foundation Australia
- Start conversations others avoid
- Advocate for change beyond sport, including brain injuries caused by violence and assault
- Honour the lives lost and stand beside the families left behind
Every hat represents more than a product. It represents a voice. A stand. A refusal to stay silent.
